Our Clients
Axiom EPM (known elsewhere as Axiom Software) is used throughout Europe and the United States and our partners have information about those installations. See below for brief case studies on our Australian-based clients.
Department of Justice & Community Safety, Victoria
Initially Axiom EPM was deployed to perform the transactional budgeting functions required by Government Departments (including payroll budgets) as well as to build business cases (projects, submissions etc) and provide reporting functionality.
More recently the tool has been used to take over a payroll reporting function that was previously being handled with Access databases and the department has started developing dashboarding functionality of their own.
See below for notes about the Government Transactional Budgeting Model.
Cool Off Pty Ltd
Cool Off is a pet-food manufacturer in southern NSW and part of the Staughton Group. Axiom was purchased solely as a reporting and dashboarding solution to draw data together from multiple source. Additionally, the system was almost entirely self-installed and is completely self-managed.
Cool Off have recently started looking into data capture within their Axiom system as well.
Department of Education, Victoria
The inaugural Axiom user in Australia, the Department initially used Axiom as a speedy replacement for an existing tool that was being end-of-lifed. The initial installation only took 3 weeks.
Subsequent updates have brought their transactional budgeting system up to the state-of-the-art and the tool is used for reporting across the organisation including a specialised structure for the TAFE area.

Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action, Victoria
The solution for the DEECA contains the same transactional budgeting tools as the other departments (including payroll budgets), but in addition features a detailed forecasting tool, means for users to create draft journals, integrates with other internal reporting tools and provides a Project Costing tool.

Simplot Australia Pty Ltd
Simplot acquired the Axiom software with the stated objective of obtaining something highly extensible; something that would replace their old Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting tool, but with a lot of headroom to create other functionality down the track.
The organisation now uses Axiom for myriad functions, but most interesting is the 48 month rolling Contribution Forecasting model which involved replacing a process involving data and calculations in two different ERP systems, a selection of Excel spreadsheets, a lot of manual processing and an Access database. The Contribution Forecasting functionality added onto their existing solution turned out to be larger than the original functions.
In addition, Simplot have added numerous pieces of functionality themselves.
Department of Health & Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, Victoria
The initial use of the Axiom software was for transactional budgeting (similar to DJCS) but a requirement emerged to replace three systems that were used to model/calculate amounts made to health agencies, produce the instructions to the banks to pay the funds and provide reporting about the same.
In addition, personnel within DoH/DFFH have constructed several tools in-house, such as a forecasting dashboard and a committments management system.

Australia New Zealand School of Governance
ANZOG use Axiom to get a handle on their cashflow and to produce costings for planned new courses, including personnel, accommodation and other costs associated with the delivery of those education programs.
Office of TAFE Coordination (Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions), Victoria
OTCD use Axiom EPM to process and report on data received from TAFEs around the state.
Government Transactional Budgeting Model
Axiom EPM is used extensively across the Victorian State Government, being used by four Departments and in development at another. The reason Axiom is so widely used in these environments is it is uniquely able to cater to the various rules and controls required by the Victorian Government while still maximising flexibility and ownership.
The use of a genuinely transactional budgeting approach allows for the long-term tracking and accountability of budget movements that government requires. This is supplemented with a robust and flexible Control Points system that prevents movement of funds apart from within certain restrictions. There are other elements, but broadly these two things create an environment that is perfectly suited to the detailed and controlled processes employed by Government.
The fact that these controls can be managed in-house, without additional external assistance is an added bonus and keeps the total cost of ownership down. Additionally, the flexibility of the tool means that, above and beyond the standard government model, the Departments are able to use Axiom for myriad other tasks, obtaining greater efficiencies and lower costs for the taxpayer.
